SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The UGC NET exam comprises two papers – Paper I (Teaching & Research Aptitude), Paper II (Subject opted by the candidate).
All questions asked in the examination are objective- type MCQs.
There is no negative marking in the examination.
Paper I is compulsory for all while for Paper II candidates can opt for the subject relevant to their Master’s degree.
The exam duration will be 3 hours without any break between the two papers.

EXAM SCHEME:
The Paper I will test the candidates on areas such as teaching and research aptitude. It will consist of topics like reasoning ability, comprehension, general awareness, and divergent thinking.
Paper-II will be based on the subject selected by the candidate (like Political Science, Philosophy, History, Commerce, Music, etc.).
Paper I, where it includes 50 questions for 100 marks.
Paper II will have 100 questions for 200 marks.
Each correct answer will fetch 2 marks. There will be no negative marking.
